History

The company Katchem spol. s r.o. has been established in December 1990 by nine  people, mostly scientific workers. They are authors of many patents and technological know-how utilized by own production. The first activities consisted in the laboratory production of chemicals, chemical analyses and the manufacture of polyamide casts. Labs and manufactories of Company are located in the Campus of Research Institutes in Řež near Prague.

The transfer or new technologies obtained mostly by own research into practice belongs to our main goals.

Our activities

• Laboratory preparation of boranes and their derivatives – specific, very expensive compounds and endeavour to retrieve their further use in the new applications.
• Increasing potentialities of wide use of our products in industry and research by transfer of laboratory syntheses into pilot plant scale.
• Preparation of  ¹⁰B isotope enriched boron compounds especially for cancer treatment by  Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) and research and development of the new synthetic method of their preparation.
• Development of new catalysts for production of polyamide.
• Research and development of new plastic materials on the basis of polyamide (PA-6).
• Research and development of the new technologies of polyamide powder preparation by  solution polymerization and products utilization in cosmetics and other branches.

• COSANs- Cobaltoborane sandwich anions for extraction of ¹³⁷Cs and ⁹⁰Sr from the solution obtained by dissolution of used nuclear power plant cells.
